Viking Extrusions are well known and respected suppliers to the rail & mass transit markets. Current legislation around the world calls for fire retardant & low smoke passenger vehicle fittings. We manufacture and supply silicone VFR (2) products that is ideally suited to this application.

VFR (2) is a superior grade of fire retardant compound exhibiting low smoke, low toxicity characteristics, generally acceptable to the mass transit industry. It possesses good physical and dielectric properties over a wide temperature range. This material has been tested in accordance with BS6853:1999.

With the stringent fire safety regulations in force on all modern rolling stock, all gasket and sealing material is manufactured in a 'fire retardent, low-smoke, low-toxicity grade' of silicone rubber - VFR(2).
