Silicone rubber is widely used within the pharmaceutical industry as it maintains its sealing properties at extreme high and low temperatures (-60°C to + 200°C). Moreover, silicone is inert and resistant to many chemicals making it an ideal choice for many processing applications. Viking Extrusion’s specially formulated grades of silicone are suitable for clean room applications and have the following accreditations:
Platinum cured grades of silicone are also available. These materials eradicate the use of peroxide during the curing process and are commonly used within the pharmaceutical industry.
